Selfish Prayer

Lately, I've found myself guilty or praying selfishly. It's easy to just think about all of your own needs before the needs of others. James 4:3 says, "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." To me, this verse means that we need to ask for the things that will show the glory of God, not the things that will show the glory of us. It's perfectly okay to pray about your grades in school or a promotion at work, but you need to always give the glory to God when He answers your prayer. That brings me to another point- answered prayer may not be the exact answer you are looking for, but God has a plan! :)
