Loyalty

"A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." (Proverbs 17:17, KJV)

Loyalty is something that should not be taken lightly. Being loyal doesn't mean always staying on one person's side. It means loving them no matter what. It means loving a friend when you guys are fine with each other and loving a friend even when they act like you don't exist. It's something that's really hard, but it's something that God has called us to do as friends. The ultimate example of loyalty is what Christ did for us. Even as He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He continued to be sinless. He had to be the spotless lamb in order to die for our sins, and He could have messed up there, but He didn't. He still loved us and died for us. We need to model that loyalty to others by doing the same. We need to still love our friends, even if it is hard for us. We need to show love by being compassionate, forgiving, and looking out for them. My challenge for myself tomorrow is to be a more loyal friend by showing Christ's love to my friends. I hope you can do the same, as it will strengthen your friendships. :)
